TMD and Splints

Temporo mandibular disorder is a term that relates to jaw joints that often click or lock with or without symptoms such as facial pain, migraines, muscle cramps, etc. Such situations if treated on the early stages will often result in less complex managements. There are a number of ways the joints need to be treated but it sometimes also require you to replace/ re align or readjust your teeth/ bite to be able to guide you jaw movements in place. We often make use of occlusal appliances such as an occlusal splint.
